It can protect from UV light or any light by simply attaching this tanning patch to area you would like to protect (ex. eyes, nipples etc.).
When UV tanning or White tanning you can use in replacement of goggles or to protect your nipples from UV rays. It's a one time use and can be used in stand type tanning machines.
