The fitness equipment industry in Dingzhou entered a rapid development period in the late 1990s and has since become an industry with considerable influence not only in the province but also nationally.

In 2009, it was confirmed by Hebei Province as a provincial-level small and medium-sized enterprise industrial cluster. In 2017, it was recognized as a provincial-level demonstration base for new industrialization and a provincial-level sports goods industry base. In 2018, it was named a sports goods industry city and awarded as an outstanding city in Hebei Province for the revitalization of characteristic industries in 2020. In 2021, Dingzhou was designated as a national sports industry demonstration base.

The fitness and sports culture and supplies industry in Dingzhou is one of the six traditional industries in the city. It encompasses more than 3,000 varieties across six main series, including fitness, sports, martial arts, teaching instruments, children's entertainment, and fitness paths. These products are well-received nationwide and exported to more than 50 countries and regions, such as the United States, Australia, and Europe. 'Dingzhou Manufacturing' holds a market share of around 15% in the fitness path and sports fitness supplies sector nationwide. Strength equipment products like dumbbells and barbells boast an international market share of approximately 25%. Dingzhou has truly established itself as a key player in the global fitness equipment market."
